Lestat’s story began with an emergency WhatsApp message received late at night.
The person who reached out did not fully understand the seriousness of his condition. All they knew was that the kitten had a strong odor, had stopped eating, and urgently needed help.
Despite the cold weather and the long distance nearly two hours away from another governorate we immediately arranged his transfer. There was no time to waste.
Arrival and Initial Assessment
Lestat arrived at dawn, exhausted, weak, and visibly in pain. The following morning, he was taken directly to the veterinary clinic for a full examination, which revealed:
- A broken jaw
- Minor paw injuries
- Severe infection with pus, swelling, and inflammation
- Heavy flea infestation, putting him at high risk of severe anemia
Due to his extremely fragile condition, the vet initially refused intravenous fluids, as they could have done more harm than good.
Surgery and Treatment
Lestat underwent the necessary surgery, which was completed successfully. He also received treatment for the infection and flea infestation, gradually regaining his strength.
Final Condition
Today, Lestat has fully recovered. The infection has cleared, the swelling has disappeared, and he is strong, active, and enjoying a healthy, normal life. Every step of his treatment brought remarkable results, transforming him from an urgent rescue case into a healthy, happy cat.
Lestat is a living example of resilience and the importance of timely veterinary care, showing how a critical emergency can turn into a full, safe, and joyful life 🤍🐾
